Fake furniture faces furnace fate

Roskilde University’s replica designer furniture will have to be destroyed says experts

Copies of Danish-designed furniture purchased on the cheap from the UK by Roskilde University Centre (RUC) for its library are illegal, according to several Danish law experts.

This past spring, the university bought 12 red leather chairs and two sofas by Le Corbusier through an internet retailer based in England. That furniture was added to the 12 chairs purchased from Le Corbusier for the library’s opening in 2001.
