Valby club first to get poker licence

Riverclub, in the city’s Valby district has become the first venue in the country to be granted a licence to hold legal poker tournaments, according to the club’s own website.

Until parliament passed a new law last October, it was illegal to play poker for money in Denmark.

Riverclub’s website indicated the venue would be likely to hold its first poker tournament within a few weeks.
