No update on condition of woman who was pulled from the water after jumping off Denmark’s largest bridge
A rescue helicopter plucked the lifeless body of a woman from the Øresund Strait earlier today after she apparently jumped from the waterway’s massive bridge.
Witnesses said the woman jumped 57 metres from the Øresund Bridge’s ‘high’ section this morning and was in the water for about 30 minutes before being retrieved.
B.T. newspaper reports that the air force rescue helicopter flew the woman straight to Rigshospitalet, but there is no further information about the woman’s present condition.Police found her car on the bridge and ID papers identifying her as a Danish citizen.
An eye-witness saw the woman pull over to the side of the road and crawl onto the barrier on the highest part of the Swedish side of the bridge before jumping.
