Ethnic population increase predicted

In 40 years, every sixth person in this country will be defined as ‘ethnic’, statistical study shows

Approximately 21 percent of people living in Denmark in 2050 will be descendents of immigrant, suggests a report from Danmarks Statistik released today.

The figures also indicate that a record number of women with non-Danish ethnic backgrounds will choose to embark on an education. In the last 10 years, the number of 20-year-old women of non-Danish heritage obtaining an education has nearly doubled to 41 percent.

Unfortunately, the statistical trend has also manifested itself negatively on the crime figures. Male descendants of immigrants are represented heavily in crime statistics as they commit 33 percent more crime than all other groups put together.

Why not call it what it really is?
Look closer...why has it manifested itself negatively on the crime figures? I'm 'Ethnic'...but, not that kind!
I seriously doubt that 33 percent of my 'ethnic' group is committing more crime than all other groups put together.
Tell me specifically, WHICH ethnic group are we talking about???

First, if "ethnic" is defined as being all those with non-Danish lineage, what "other groups combined" are there? Secondly, I doubt these males are Germans, Swedes, Norwegians, or English. A further specification is undoubtedley possible...

I would furthermore be curious whether this is meant to be an "absolute" rate of criminality or per capita. If the roughly 8% of "ethnics" commit 33% more crime than 92% of the remainder, this translates into a per capita "ethnic" criminality rate of roughly 15 times (1500%) that of Danes. Something which is, literally, orders of magnitude more "unfortunate" than the author has said.

A clarification on this, by publishing the actual statistics themselves, would be helpful.

Danes with immigrant grandparents or parents commit 3% of the crimes.

Danes with indigenous grandparents or parents commit 86% of the crimes.

There are fewer people with an "immigrant" background so it appears to be a higher proportion of that group who are breaking laws, especially if you exclude traditionally law abiding people like the old and the women.

Talk about massaging the numbers to get the message you want...

Ethnic, word derived from the Greek 'ethnikos', meaning national.
So what are you trying to say here?
Are all the national groups, Swedes, French, residents of Tuvalu and Fidji living in Denmark, Norwegians, Congolese, etc increasing? Or is 'ethnic' a racist-coded term invented by DF and its puppets in the government bureaucracy to create a second-class citizen group in a seemingly innocuous way. This is beginning to smell like the 1930s, the new scapegoat has been found.
I somehow expect more intelligent analysis from the CPH post.

So the DF is racist for keeping statistics? Should having and keeping an accurate demographic picture of our country be a hate crime now?

Curious that knowledge of what's happening in our country should be scorned. Curious that the DF are now Nazi's and, according to you Emilie, the "true" criminals, as opposed to the people actually committing crimes, of whom DF merely wants statistics kept.

Apparently when reading this article, I should be more enraged by the fact the DF is calling these people "ethnic," as some sort of "seemingly inocuous code word," rather than the fact that these "ethnics" are committing a disproportionate number of crimes. What a crazy world we live in...
