Another Danish soldier has been killed in action in Afghanistan by an explosion while on foot patrol

A 23-year-old soldier has become the 28th Danish casualty as he was killed by an explosive device while on foot patrol in Afghanistan early yesterday morning.

The unnamed soldier was part of a scouting unit that was patrolling near the Patrol Base Barakzai in the Southern Helmand province when he was injured.

He was taken to the nearest field hospital but pronounced dead on arrival.

‘It’s tragic that one of our soldiers died this morning of injuries sustained in an explosion that hit him as he was carrying out his mission in Helmand,’ said Major General Niels Bundsgaard.

Condolences to the family of the Danish soldier.

Hey CPH Post, while we are on the Afghanistan subject, where is the article on the Danish scandal regarding free Danish seeds for Afghan farmers to replace poppy growing, but delivering sacks filled with stones instead? Is this national scandal not to be broadcast in any other language than Danish?
