Two more Swedes taken into custody on suspicion they took part in Denmark’s second-largest robbery ever
The number of men jailed in connection with the 60 million kroner robbery of a money transport firm in Copenhagen suburb Brøndby has now reached 16.
Two Swedish men have been arrested in Malmö and were yesterday sent to Denmark for their alleged part in robbing Dansk Værdihåndtering in August last year. A court has ruled the suspects will be held in remand until 22 December.
Several Swedes are among the 16 men being held, while the others are reportedly from eastern European countries.Police have so far only recovered about 4 million kroner stolen in the heist.
The robbery is the second largest to take place in this country, following the April 2008 heist of money transport firm Loomis in Glostrup, Copenhagen, in which 62 million kroner was taken. Police have stopped investigating that case, despite only recovering 200,000 kroner of the stolen money.
